My my...my blog's in danger of extinction.
Yup, my worst fears are coming true...viewership has gone to pot! Mainly 'cos of NS..which has not only dulled my wit, but depleted my will to write and spend time on my blog and deprived me of the time with which to write. I can feel my brain in permanent fuzzy land now after just 2 weeks...Sigh i fear my wackiness may never return. I miss the gossip that used to drive my interest in life..guys talk in NS tends to revolve around NS stuff, swearing, NS stuff, and more swearing. To my viewers...I'm so sorry! Oh how i wish i could meet up with some of my JC friends again...this has been the longest 3 weeks of my life.

Anyway, i've found out that Ninja is actually the MOST shiong company in BMT! Not that they tekan us a lot, just that Ninja imposes higher standards of discipline and commitment from us than other companies. And we have less free time than most other companies. Hopefully we'll all be able to see the fruits of our labour once BMT training's over with.

But i've made a point not to talk too much about NS! 'Cos talking over and over about something as if it's very important to people who don't really care is one way to really piss people off! NS IS a really big part of my life now...but it's not the same for many others. Let's make sure NS doesn't become the whole of our lives! Anyway my MC is coming to an end..i'm booking back in tomorrow at around 7am. Sigh...my lung infection hasn't healed yet but hopefully the air and water at Tekong will be more kind to me this time...

A short rest-stop before the long journey ahead...
Ok, i booked out of NS on monday night...supposed to go back on wednesday evening but i decided to get an MC for the flu that i...acquired...right before i went for BMT (basic military training). Actually, it's an "upper respiratory tract infection" now. So i'll only have to book back into camp on thursday morning...at around 7am.

NS has been...ok lah i suppose. If not for the flu i probably would've found it much more comfortable. I got posted to Ninja Company, Platoon 3 Section 4, which in my opinion is one of the best platoons i could've gone to, although on the whole Ninja has got quite a reputation for being very hiong. For some reason the people in my company aren't very fit on the whole, and even with the flu i'm still physically very much above average. Overall, i'd say that 01 Scouts was still more physically and mentally taxing, although the Army has the..er..benefit of having less rest time per day (about..1hr total to just do what you want. They give you an hour of "free time" at night but, hey, you need that to bathe and brush your teeth and do all the last minute preparations right?) and being MUCH longer on the whole. In 01 scouts it was just "suffer for 5days and it's all done". But army is going to last almost 2 years...

Personally i don't think i'm mentally fitted to be a soldier. I can't take orders without questioning them, i've got a pretty high standard of living and i love my freedom of choice and my rights as a citizen. Then again i'm quite resigned to go through all this in order to keep my Singaporean citizenship. At least there isn't much pressure for me to shine out among the rest, since i decided that i want to relax and not strive for any high rank. Just try to enjoy my self and learn new things. Maybe i'll try becoming a sergeant or something but not an officer.

Well, gotta go pack for now...maybe if i have time later i'll write more. Or maybe i should just spend the time enjoying my little comforts and my freedom before going back in for another 11 days...

1 more day left..
Woohoo. I just got my hair cut. Shaved, actually. I look like some small little boy now...with my new ugly black plastic glasses i don't think anyone would recognise me at first glance. I really don't look good with this dorky hairstyle. Damn. I'm better off bald. I suppose this's where all the caps i've received will come in handy...

Ahwell, anyway i've been doing lots of packing today. I'm almost done now, not much time left to do anything else. To all you folks who still read this, sayonara for now! And don't come back here for 2 weeks! If you do that, then maybe you'll need to go get a life. Or at least a job. 'Cos there's not going to be any more updates!! I'll finish my guide on my notebook in NS i guess...and i'll be back to bitch a bit or something...but until then blogging will be the last thing on my mind. The first thing'll probably be "Damn it! *Gasp* Stupid sergeant! Make us drop 100! 56, 57, ok he's not looking at us 60,61.."

But if you DO have stuff to say to me you can always sms! I'm planning to check my phone between 10pm to 10.30pm each day or something in order to conserve batt power and everything. Sigh, but really damn sucks man, maybe i should bring my Wheel of Time along sigh...

My days are truly numbered.
Yes, they really are. I've got so many things i want to do or have to do: blog about my NY trip, finish my guide to NY, blog about the past 3 days of outings, play dota, read Wheel of Time, get my computer fixed, get a quality head shave, get a doctor's checkup for my feet, pack my bags and say my goodbyes. So many things to do and so little time. Come tomorrow, a.k.a. thursday, i'll be embarking on yet another 2week trip away from home, except instead of slacking around and sleeping in nice air-conditioned comfort in NY i'll be training and sweating and sleeping in crappy bunks in Tekong. And there's still the outdoor camping. It's gonna be secondary school discomfort all over again, i tell you. 2 years of it and i might just die. I realise i'll also need time to simply relax; to enjoy the air-conditioning, hot showers, good food and sleep without alarm clocks that i won't get during NS..just the simple pleasures that i've always taken for granted.

Anyway, just returned home from Suntec. Treated the whole bunch of 'em (except for poor goat who's in NS) to Kuchin-Bo (to celebrate my birthday lah) then went K-Boxing. Got my birthday gift as well...Bleach figurines!! I've got Inoue Orihime, Kuchiki Byakuya, Urahara Kisuke, and Kurosaki Ichigo(Bankai version). Not a complete set yet but it's all pretty cool! :) Went straight home after karaoke...can you imagine being in Suntec at 3am? So...quiet. Anyway it turns out that there's not going to be any DotA tonight, so i'll just do some packing for now and hopefully shower and sleep before 5am. Today's gonna be a long and busy day..i'll be lucky if i can get a single blog entry in by tomorrow.
