Well, i've had quite a lot of fun these days...like duh right, since i've spent only one day in camp ever since last tuesday...That thursday spent in camp was tough though. I'm into the 2nd half of my extended break already...just one more sunday and monday to go and it's back to "normal duties" haiz....
Nothing really GREAT of note has happened so far...lemme see..on tuesday i went out BOWLING with diana, chinhow, tzeyang and kenneth...my first time all year if i'm not wrong. I still got a bit of my old touch; accuracy-wise i'm still hitting that pocket with practically every throw. But somehow i'm getting less strikes, and i can't hit the right sided pins on a 2nd shot for spare.
Went bowling again on thursday night, this time with some army friends, but i had the same response, with even more unlucky spare attempts. Haiz it's like basketball...play so much but now my standard's dropped so much. I'm still at least getting above 100, but 150+ is way beyond me i fear.
Played mahjong after tuesday's bowling though, with usual suspects chinhow and relative newbies diana and her, well,
relatively new boyfriend, KJ. (don't ask me for his full name, i only know him as "KayJay" and it seemed pretty rude to ask him for his true, probably less cool name) I won like...less than a dollar because it was quite even in the end..i think i had too many close calls with
qing yi se though so it could've been very different. Like i bet diana would've lost a BOMB except that she had all that
arse-luck..what with her drawing all the flower tiles and stuff.
Oh that thrusday night was pretty eventful too! Haha before bowling we had gone to eat at Prego...this super expensive place (to me at least) at Raffles City. Went there directly from camp via a taxi..and i've gotta say that it was THE worst cab ride i've ever taken! Haha the cab driver was some kinda near-middle aged man with super long hair..he kinda looked like some Taiwan gangster, except he was spewing hokkien stuff all the way. At half the red lights, he'd open the whole driver's door to SPIT onto the road, and he was like chatting half the time on the phone with his right hand holding the phone while his left hand did the steering AND the changing of gears.
Haha worst still, he had like 5 over smses which he just couldn't resist replying to immediately! Like what the hell, he was actually replying an sms (and basically looking at his phone with occasional glances in front of him) while bloody driving on the right lane of the expressway! And like the phone calls his left hand was just holding onto the bottom of the steering wheel and steering...and of course he had no hands on the wheel when he changed gears. He was an asshole of a driver too, like he refused to let ANYONE overtake him or change lanes in front of him...he'd honk whenever anyone tried to cut into his lane and then he'd speed up and zoom past...there were some pretty close calls on the road.
Then after that whole dangerous ordeal, where i think he took me the long way (i don't think it's $14.90 from Bukit Panjang to City Hall MRT..), i gave him $15 and he was like "Ok ok thank you, $15 can right? It's just 10cents right?" Like WTF..i thought
I was supposed to be the one offering to let him keep the change. I decided not to take down his licence plate number or whatever 'cos i don't want to be a vengeful
angel of destruction or anything...all i can remember is "SGH-blah blah dunno what number".
Now that i think about it, he didn't have a taxi licence to display or whatever it's called (you know, the one where "You're driving in comfort with so-and-so..)...i get the feeling that he's an illegal foreign worker or simply the actual taxi driver's brother's-friend's-brother's friend or dunno what else -.-.
Prego itself was BLARDY not worth it, to me. I ordered this lamb chops dish which sounded and, in the end, tasted like the one i had in HongKong (which's a GOOD thing), except that the serving size was a bit small...38 bux too..pretty steep (or as Terrence would say,
pricey) unless you compare it to local French restaurants or NY or HK gourmet bars or whatever. Drinks was not even worth considering..$6.50 for a glass of COKE and $9.50 for a glass of ORANGE JUICE; just imagine that. All in all, the food tasted good, but i think i can get more for less elsewhere.
The rest of my extended break has been spent with parents and at home, playing the computer and finishing up on Moon Phase. Next up is Full Metal Alchemist...quite a promising anime from what i've heard so far...i've only done the first episode but i'm optimistic about how it'll end up. After that...i don't know what else to watch lah haiz..Final Approach? Full Metal Panic 2? Rozen Maiden? Burst Angel? Trigun?
Love Hina? Lol..can't find most of these out in shops though, and as it is i'm coming down to the tail-end (20bucks, to be exact) of my 200 dollar a month budget. Sigh..when is Naruto fillers gonna end??? Bleach too! Both of them have been going on FOREVER.
And finally, today i went out with the usual people (jac, ken, tzeyang, chinhow...i'm spending too much time mentioning their names over and over again..maybe i should just refer to them as JKTC or smthn) to watch this movie; PRESTIGE! Errr...quite hard to say what i think of the movie, 'cos it's the type where you..er..don't actually enjoy watching it, but at the end of it you really respect the script-writer, the story-line, the way the scenes were directed, all of that.
The whole movie's very...symbolic, somehow, and there're so many twists and turns..deeper and more clever than, say,
Infernal Affairs. Where every scene, every gesture and conversation exchange is just another hint to the unwary viewer about what has actually happened, which's revealed to all only in the climax of the last 5 minutes of the movie. Don't want to spoil it for you people anymore, but it's really, seriously, a GREAT movie! One that i WOULDN'T recommend! LOL.
Anyhow, i'm now waiting for
certain people to come online...haiz dunno where they are. Well, i'm still gonna end here, regardless! More updates in the future!
