He's been acquitted.
Hokay, the internet's finally back up.

I don't know what's the problem with my cable internet these days...it tends to go offline, then on, and at times i can't even surf for the whole afternoon. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my modem box, my house's cable infrastructure, or if it's an issue with Starhub itself. Quite frustrating.

Well, i baked bread without regular milk last sunday! Used soya-bean milk instead, and of course once again it turned out better than last week (it always does huh). WAY better actually, because i manually fashioned a narrow bread tin out of a wide barbeque tray and some aluminium foil, which gave the yeast more time to ferment, so this time the dough had lots of opportunity to rise.

In the end, the insides were more fluffy than before, the crust was as crispy and flaky as a standard croissant (i've got no idea how that happened) and the bread tasted great overall! A hint of a bitter aftertaste though; so faint that a bit of butter covers it up. I think it's a result of the soya-bean milk. This bread's also supposed to be more suited to being eaten with natto beans, miso - basically soya-based stuff - but i didn't have a chance to try it that way.

And sadly, my microwave oven's baking function doesn't seem to work so it seems that i'll be forever stuck using the big-frying-pan baking style sigh. Must i buy an oven in the future, i wonder? For next sunday's project, i bought a couple of pastry tins or whatever you call them. Decently tall tins so the dough's expansion would go even better last week's, although the tins are not as big as the standard square-dinner-sandwich type of tin that i'd like to have.

I bought another secret ingredient as well...WASABI!!! That's right, i'll be baking wasabi flavoured bread! Like OMG it's not even for me, it's more for my sister, at her request. I've started to develop a slight taste for wasabi these days, but i'm definitely not far enough along that road to be able to enjoy WASABI BREAD like wtf. Ahwell, since i bought small tins, i guess that's just perfect for my situation. I'll make a small loaf then; small enough that it'll be finished in a few bites and i won't have to save some of the loaf for breakfast the next day...0_o

Alright, on to other stuff now...on the most recent wednesday (i.e 2 days ago, officially) Mr William Ding got acquitted of all criminal charges! I'm really happy for him, because i do believe that he was innocent and a victim of this whole 3 year ordeal. His legal fees are going to be humongous, on the other hand; i don't know his exact fees but i have a rough idea of it. Sometimes i wonder if he ever thinks of suing those accusers for compensation for his legal fees (since it's my personal opinion - and the opinion of many - that the charges were all fraud and concocted). However, it'll require another lengthy trial and if i were in his shoes, i'm not sure if i'd have the stamina left for another tiresome legal battle.

As an intern in the firm that worked on his case, it's been a "job well done" for all of us and a good ending to all the labour we put in; double and triple-checking the submissions, preparing the evidence folders, and helping out in many other ways. To be honest, i'm pretty sad the whole episode is over, since it WAS quite a fun and educational experience. Of course, for Mr Ding's sake, i'd rather that the appeal wasn't even required in the first place! :D

Oh, and because of the trial, i also appeared on TV! Haha, it was on wednesday's 9 o'clock news which was shown again at 1+am the next day. Mostly video footage of me walking with and standing beside the two lawyers from my firm who i accompanied to the trial (which includes the esteemed Senior Counsel, of course). I had about ten to twenty seconds of air-time, which's actually not bad for a normal, ordinary guy like me who's never had any reason to appear on TV my whole life.

My mother taped down that news footage after i had told her beforehand that there was a high chance i'd appear on it. And for the whole of today (or rather, yesterday), she's been telling friends and relatives that i was on TV and talking about the case as if she was involved in it herself LOL. It's like i'm a TV star now! And i'm saying that after a few seconds on some news footage. Hahaha we're all such simple people.

To Angel and Jane: Whoops! You two should have really been there! There wasn't that much left to do after you people left High Court and you missed out on the chance to become BIG TV STARS!!! Lol.

Okay, to all readers (JUST in case): I'm kidding/being sarcastic about the TV star part. As in really. I'm not that self-conceited. Really. Seriously. Erps.

Anyway, today was Labour Day! I still don't know what the HECK Labour Day is for, after all these years, but hey, i don't mind, 'cos it's a holiday and i'll just take it with no complaints! Paid leave, banzai!!! :D:D:D

So i watched Iron Man today, and i have to say, it was pretty damn good! I've NEVER thought of Iron Man as a cool superhero while playing all those Marvel video games and reading all those Marvel comics, but the movie somehow made Iron Man seem like a damn freakin cool sonofabitch! Haha! I was thinking that it could be because of Robert Downey Jr's nice portrayal of the superhero, but it was probably helped the most by the movie's heavy (and cool) soundtrack. Definitely one of the best Marvel superhero movies by far (and i'm almost commiting a sin by comparing it to Fantastic Four..urgh!) and i recommend it to anyone with cash to burn and time to spare.

And talking about time, i really don't have much left tonight. Heck, it's 1.30AM already and there's work tomorrow. And i'm not yet asleep! Goodnight to all!
